October 31, 2016 New School, New Baby Pool Pt.2

First week in the new area of Maraza. Went super well here with my new companion Elder Combs! He is from Colorado, and is a transfer older than me on the mission. Really nice guy and hard worker.

As we were going around on saturday night passing by and visiting some investigators and less-active members to remind them about church, we went to this recent investigator family we have been teaching these past couple of days. Mozinho and his wife Felizarda, and Fiusa and his wife Nina. They are next door neighbors and everytime we come by we sit all together. 

When we came this night Mozinho and his wife were not home, so we were just going to see how Fiusa was doing and mark another day to sit with everyone. As we were talking with Fiusa he told us that he wouldn´t be able to come to church tomorrow but he would come next week because he has a new born baby and they need to go get it named and blessed at his old church. Well.... (nice to see he understood the restoration lesson we taught...) we were a bit sad, and said alright we will see you next week then and left to go visit others in the area.

Coming out of another visit we were about to start making our way home when we both felt like we should just go back to Fiusa´s house and name and bless his baby, then that way he could come to church in the morning.. At first we kinda just laughed at the thought, but then we just said  ´´well... lets go name us a baby!´´. So went back and sat down with them, had a prayer and then told him that we hold the Priesthood and that if he would let us we could name and bless the baby and that way they could come to church in the morning and they never have to go back to their old church. Without hesitating Fiusa tells us that only God could have told us to come back and do that, so he handed us the baby, we knelt down in this tiny tried stick house held together by rope and mud, and blessed Rosa Fiusa Julio. 

The Next morning they came to church along with their families!
