March 28, 2016 BIRTHDAY WEEK

im a 19 year old MAN.
This week was my birthday on the 25th! and some of the guys in my house woke up early and my companion elder payne made me a ton a french toast and hashbrowns and all that hahaha so it was a good day!

for those of you who have served missions you know that holidays and birthdays and really just like any other day that you have here.. hahaha its kinda sad. but thats what i signed up for! hahah but we did celebrate with some milkshakes and some good stuff like that.

but we also had a baptism this saturday and everything went great! its amazing how prepared some people are! they came up to us one sunday and the wife said " hey i have a husband who wants to get baptized so we can go to the temple. and we are married legally and i am a member already." so i tried not to pee my pants when i heard that. but anyway. he got baptized this week and will be confirmed next week because he came late cuz his car wouldnt start on sunday.. i guess the devil still works on easters.

but MIRACLE happened this week. so last week we were supposed to have a 23 year old man confirmed because he had been baptized like a month ago and he couldnt get confirmed because of the conference we had with the apostle and because of stake conference. and he didnt show up the day he was going to be because he had heard some stuff from a afriend at school the day before and decided not to be a member of the church anymore. but this week we visited him and just bore testimony of the truth of the church and the prophet. then later we took him to a family night we were having. and after when we got home we got a text telling us he was ready to be confirmed a member of the church the next morning!!!  and i even got to assist in his confirmation. he has decided to start his mission papers and to go on a mission as soon as he can! he is one of the smartest people i know! and im happy for him!

moral is we might all have questions about things we might not agree with or things we dont completely understand and no one can give us a sure answer!

as long as we know the bigger questions and have the answer to those from the spirit, the liittle things, dont even matter.

in the words of elder callister " i can live with some human imperfections in the leadership of the church, i can live with some questions others may present, time will answer those, i can live with that. but i cannot live without the saving ordinances the church gives. i cannot live without being sealed to my family for eternity."

so as long as we know what we believe, nothing else really matters!

have a good week and make sure when you say your prayers, ask what you can do better! ... it works.

ps. im being transferred

March 21, 2015 7 months and 19 Years!

Well this week was good, a few downers on a couple investigators but nothing that wont turn out well:)

but this past week i hit 7 months out on the mission and this week i will turn 19 ! whaaaat.

but here on the mission.. nothing is really different on your birthday or christmas... like.. you still work and stuff and cant celebrate... so..

anyway. things are great but i dont have any time at all anymore so i just want to invite you all to read a talk by Tad R. callister called : the blueprint of christs church.

literally the greatest talk ever. anyone who ever has a question about anything to do with the church and want to know why and how we do things. read this talk.

its amazing!!!

have a great week! love you guys!

March 14, 2016 Lost boys #found

doing some contacting this last week we stumbled on a home where they said the missionaries had already passed some time ago but her brother was a member of the church

we thought it was weird because there were no members in that area that we had ever known of so she told us to come by the next day so that we could be able to talk with him and when we came back the next day he said that he had never been baptized but he had been going to church over the past year and a half with about five of his other friends that never got baptized either

we asked if he could show us the other kids and get to know them really quick and he did! so we had a lesson with them and they said they wanted to before but i guess the missionaries back in the day thought they were all members or something so they never got the opportunity to get baptized

and they asked what they had to do to get baptized and when they could do it
Well we werent really expecting that but we taught them the restoration and gave them the baptismal date of April sixteenth! so around this time next month we will be having their baptism!

also we had a really funny lesson with Joao and Angelina we were just supposed to be there for about fifteen minutes but we ended up being there for a little longer than an hour! they decided to like tell us their entire life story and how they met and about all their kids and then we discussed how they could get married faster and it was nice hahaha its always a miracle and nice to see when an investigator you are teaching brings up the thing about marriage and baptism!

we had a great week this week and i hope you guys did too!
if you are bored this week EMAIL ME cuz i miss you guys!

pray that i can find some sugar cane this week!

March 7, 2016 PRIESTHOOD POWER!

This week went by kinda like the past few have, finding new investigators and families, trying to work with the ward mission leader and him not showing up, the energy going out randomly.

but there was a Particular thing that really was different.
We went to visit this family on saturday night, and talked with them and they mentioned that their landlord was very sick and weak because she was also like super old right?

We offered to give her a blessing, and i was the one who gave it. well.

i know what you're thinking. " She was HEALED!"

nope. we passed by the next morning to walk to church with them and they were having her funeral..

well i know i have some pretty strong faith, but all joking aside, i feel like it was what was supposed to happen! sometimes we see death as something terrible, and dreadful. but i see it as something amazing! we get to see our father in heaven! and receive all that he has in store for us!

it was a strange feeling but it was also great that i had after that:)
which reminds me about temple work! and how the temple can help strengthen and mature us spiritually! so that when the time comes, we will be ready!

also i got to play with a little monkey named Kingy. hes super cute and we got a little distracted for about an hour and missed our last lesson. but it was for a good cause! you dont get to play with a monkey everyday do you??
the answer is no.

great week! great times! making some great memories!
