February 29, 2016 MIRACLES!!

This week was AMAZING!

Elder Payne and i have been doing super well, working well together and still trying to find new families to teach and what not.

But this week we were able to contact some old families that missionaries were teaching a loooooong time ago, and we found one that i really liked while being followed by this homeless man that would not stop following us or stop speaking french to us, and then i said something and i think that triggered something in his head, cuz he just stopped and said " TAEKWONDO!!" and started like fighting an imaginary person, and then we ran and hid from him behind a fence and then we met that family!!

And another family we met just yesterday was Joao and Angelina. Joao came to church and Elder Payne got his number and we marked a visit because he wasnt a member but said his son was and he was looking for him, so we meet up at the chapel and he takes us on a walk to his home, and on the whole way there he is Just telling me how much he loved the church today and the teaching and that in his old church they werent allowed to read the bible or do any studying on their own so he didnt know much and thought it was dumb so he left that church. and then he starts talking about how he is getting old and just wants to get married to Angelina because they have been living together for 25 years but never got married!... so it was literally like... hey you wanna help me and my wife and kids get married baptized and join the church? please?

so.. me and elder payne tried to control our emotions of excitement and got to know them and they got to know us!

Well this 69 year old man  has helped me see that even though there may not be a perfect membership in the church and not everyone does perfectly in their callings, the spirit will still be there! 

Other than that not tooo much happened this week. i couldnt find any sugar cane so i was pretty sad about that.. i love that stuff...

February 22, 2016 New Transfer! 6 Months Out!!

As of the 19th this last week i have officially been on the mission for 6 months!!

thats 1/4 my mission!! woah.. this goes by fast.. i only have to do this 3 more times??  im down.

well this last week we had a baptism, an apostle and 3 general authorities speak with us, so.. safe to say this week was pretty. dece.

other than that we are entering into a new transfer here and Elder Payne and i are going to be together again! so i'm pumped for that and cant wait to try and work harder this transfer than i did before! we are going to make a lot of new goals that can help us to get even more done here! so hopefully we can help build up the stake in maputo and eventually have our own stake here in Matola!

Also we had the Ablsolute hottest day of my entire life here this last week! it was about 45 degrees celsius and probably 100% humidity. with the power off until about 5 minutes before we went to bed.. so safe to say it was a blessing!

well other than that i cant really think of too much that has happened this past week here in MOZ.

well something awkward just happened.. so thought id let you guys know... 

well this lady next to me just asked for my "contacto"... well for those of you who need a translation that means contact , which means, my number... lol

February 8, 2016 HOT.

wow its hot.

this week went by CRAZY fast! feels like just yesterday that i was emailing you all! and did i mention its hot?

so this week, funny story actually.. 

so there is this crazy guy who used to be like suuper smart and like a super great member. well for some reason he like went crazy and missionaries in the past found him like doing drugs in the bathroom a while ago.. and he tries to get into the church every day! well on sunday they let him in and come inside because everyone is welcome right?

well he desides that he's gonna be sneaky.. so he gets a haircut, puts on a golfers hat and sunglasses, and sits in the back corner in all the meetings at church.. hahahah it was hilarious, i should have got a picture with him.. but i did take some nice pics and a cool little video of this sweet part of our area we went to! we are working with a family out there named Taibo and Sarifa!

they are super nice, and luckily their best friends are members and so they want to be baptized... and they live right by a river!! so.. what im thinking is maybe we can get them baptized in that bad boy. that'd be so african.

well i cant really think of too many things that happened this week! but it was great! we have successfully re-activated this great family! Geraldo and albertina! they are HILARIOUs.. and they are taeching us how to make a traditional dish here called matapa. so tomorrow we will go in the morning and make it and prepare it, and in the night we will come back and eat:)

love it here and everything is super great with me and my comp as usual!

he's a great guy and i feel like im a bad infuence on him hahahah but.. 

well... idk.. 

nothing crazy happens too much here... one thing you find is that its more just like.... strange things that happen.. like very very strange. but i love it:)

February 1, 2016 Its HOT.

well its getting hot in here..

so put on your baptismal clothes..

we had our little friends hoopes and Esdor get baptized this last Saturday!! it was amazing to get my first baptism:) it is an amazing feeling of happiness!!

also I just wanted to share a couple of experiences I had this week with some of our progressing families..

Jose and Nilsa, they are an amazing couple that is doing super great! they both came to church this last week and have been for some time!

when we visit him we can always feel the spirit suuuuper strong. and he knows what he needs to do and that when he does it everything will be okay.

well he has been struggling getting work lately and so he has been having a hard time with rent coming up and him still having to put food on the table for him and his girl. so we had a super great lesson with him on Saturday night I think it was and told them they needed to get their priorities in line with gods and he will bless him and help him with whatever he needs. well today we called him to see if we could pass by tonight and he said for us to call him back because he was working!

that is amazing to me. sometimes I think as a missionary or even member of the church we get in the habit of saying things. and saying things. but do we really believe them? that they can happen? that we will be blessed? well I know that god does want to help us. and just as he has helped me , this week he has helped our good friend Jose! so that is a testimony strengthener right there for me:) 

and this week I wanna challenge each of you just like it says in the scriptures, to prove god. do what he wants you to do and what you know is right, and see if he will not bless you.

I love this gospel and the happiness and help it can bring people who are even in the worst circumstances of not having work to be able to have food at home.
